Bellevue puts efforts to get Google broadband bandwagon

Bellevue, placed a few miles from the Microsoft’s headquarter, is the latest city after Seattle , Renton, Bellingham and Portland to bid for the Google’s high speed internet network.

Trying to attract the search engine giant to their respective communities, politicians have been traced while making an attempt to make unusual PR stunts. Bellevue in an attempt to lure the search engine has also tried to showcase the support of the public by carrying out surveys, uploading videos on you tube and commenting on city’s Facebook page.

Thanks to the search engine for making the deadline the 26th day of March, 2010 or it would have been very difficult to predict that when such campaigns would come to an end. Now, these would be continued for the week that is left so as to make any changes as was in case of Topeka, Kansas.
Well, where does the huge inspiration come from? The answer is not too far. It’s the Google’s highly lucrative offer to provide high speed internet in selected communities, with a speed as high as 1 gigabyte per second. Telework, education, movie downloads and many other things would be transformed drastically,Bellevue said.

Steve Sarkozy,the Bellevue City Manager, said that the city would be exemplary for demonstrating ultra-high-speed broadband internet as the residents of the city are highly creative courtesy; the business in his city has broken all records of innovation and one of those business includes Microsoft offices set up in downtown Bellevue. Further, the city is in a position to showcase the advantages of the project taken by Google.
